LASER TREATMENT of SPIDER VEINS
Vascular laser are used widely for treatment of redness reduction, telangiectasia and rosacea on the face. When it comes to treatment of spider veins on legs, laser treatments tend to get tricky.
- Not all patients are good candidates
- Larger spider veins will require several treatments session
- Laser treatments might get more expensive than sclerotherapy
- Laser treatment is an excellent option for patients with just few spider veins
- Laser treatment is a great choice as a ‘last minute’ option for a few spider veins, if you don't mind some imperfection pot procedure
Lasers are a great option of treatment for delicate spider veins on face and legs
In our clinic we offer highly customizable treatment with Cynosure Cynergy laser with MultiPlex technology, a sophisticated combination of Pumped Dye and Nd: YAG lasers that work as one. Certain amount of energy delivery is necessary to achieve spider vein closure. The amount of energy may be delivered in lower intensity doses over multiple treatments or higher intensity doses over fewer treatments, therefore multiple sessions are needed to achieve satisfactory results.
As with any cosmetic procedure, "more" is not always better. Patient’s safety is always prioritized.
Because treatment of spider veins with sclerotherapy creates significantly less collateral damage to your skin than laser destruction, sclerotherapy injections are usually offered as a first line of treatment.
As with all laser treatments you might experience some post treatment discomfort , short-term bruising, which should fade away within few days. Laser treatment of spiders on legs requires high energy setting. This energy needs to be delivered to the vein through your skin, which might results in long term hypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation. Not all sizes of spider veins are suitable for laser treatment.
